Essay On Basant Fair .The Basant Fair' is held near the tank outside the city. This year I went to enjoy it alongwith a few friends, We hired a tonga and reached there. There were lots of people of all ages. All were dressed in their holiday clothes. They looked gay1and bright. The fair was at its best. There was a bazar with different kinds of things.
The shopkeepers shouted loudly to attract the customers. They highly praise& their articles. But their sweets were not made of pure ghee. So we did not buy any. Wherever I looked, I saw crowds of people. The shops, the lawns and all other palces were crowded.
People were eating, drinking and making Merry. Many children were enjoying lifts in the merry gorounds. On one side a juggler was performing tricks. He showed many feats or ski1. After sometime we went to the open. There were lots ofpeople flying kites.
A kite flying contests was going on. The strings of the kitesl° rubbed against each other". When its string was worn through, the kite was cut off. The people raised a loud noise.
They cheered the winner and jeered" at the loser'''. Many boys ran after the kite shouting and howling. When some one caught the kite, others fell upon him like savages. The string and the kite were mostly torn into pieces. What a pleasant and exciting sight.
